Cf. the note on [12] ‘Wonderful Land’. This is better than that by a fair margin. Sticking pretty rigidly to The Shadows’ arrangement, with Bob Bogle on lead, it jogs along to a nice steady rhythm, and latterly develops a degree of punch – though a reinforcing final flourish would have served better than a feeble fade-out. A creditable group effort, most definitely in the danceworthy (though hardly essential listening) category. This number together with ‘Wonderful Land’ put in a surprise appearance on a 1982 LP pair from Belgium, Greatest Hits Vol.1/ Vol. 2, and both were made more widely available in 2000 on the See For Miles 2CD The Ultimate Collection. (‘Dance On!’ had appeared in digital format in 1987 on the Garland label, CD Compact Ventures: see Mike Barnes, Ventures Resurgence 63 [2001] 7.)
