The Digipaks of these six albums, released in 1998, are no longer in the catalogue (though they can still be found in many shops). In their place EMI has provided three mid-priced “2 on 1s” in conventional packaging. There is no room therefore for mono plus stereo pairings with their attendant alternative versions.

Four of the albums are in stereo, “Listen To Cliff!” and “21 Today” are in mono, as per the Digipaks (though a couple of stereo AVs were appended to the former). What a pity that EMI did not take the trouble to give fans freshly done stereo issues: for these two key albums in their totality we must still rely on the decidedly inadequate CDs from 1992.

There are other 60s items to which EMI might give some attention, to fill real gaps, notably properly reprocessed reissues of the albums “Cliff Richard” and “Finders Keepers”: reproduction on the 1992 CD of the second of these is especially poor, far outshone by the selection of numbers remastered by Keith Bessey for the “At The Movies” set.
