This CD has nothing to do with the 1985 Spanish LP “Pioneros Del Rock” which replicated the Mexican “Lo Mejor De Lo Mejor” from the year before, though the artwork is similar. The disc tray pictures this and eleven other “Pioneros” CDs, taking in among others Cliff Richard and The Ventures. As for content, there is a lot in common with the Mexican CD “Mis Momentos” (1997) and 2CD “Legend” (1998). The title would lead one to expect a set sourced purely from the early years or at least the 60s, so what Riders In The Sky and Deer Hunter are doing here is anybody’s guess.
Sound quality is fine, but expect to lay out around twice what you would normally pay for a full-price UK CD. Things ain’t exactly cheap South Of The Border.
MC
