SHADOWS AS COMPOSERS

#3. HANK MARVIN/ BRIAN BENNETT (& OTHERS) – 6 ENTRIES

#3A. Hank Marvin/ Brian Bennett – 2 Entries

There is nothing especially outstanding in the thinly represented category #3A–#3B.

1967 A-Single:
TOMORROW'S CANCELLED
The first Single of 1967, MAROC 7, had taken The Shadows to No. 24; this, the second and last of the year, failed entirely.

1984 LP/ CD:
OUR ALBERT
The closing track of the 1984 No. 98 LP/ CD, Guardian Angel.

#3B. Hank Marvin/ Brian Bennett & Others – 4 Entries

Cliff Hall/ Alan Jones

1982 LP:
OVER IN A FLASH
A number featured on Live At Abbey Road. Hall & Jones in fact often fed in ideas when numbers were being composed on the spot, but were not normally credited. Here their inclusion was no doubt inevitable, given that the number was put together, presumably in order to provide a new instrumental to counterbalance the vocal items, a few hours before the set was taped.

John Rostill

1966 LP:
RAZZMATAZ
On the 1966 No. 5 LP Shadow Music, notable for the fact that it was recorded, for a second time, more than two years before release.

1967 LP:
PRELUDE IN E MAJOR
On the 1967 No. 8 LP Jigsaw.

1968 LP:
VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BATH
On the 1968 No. 30 commemorative LP Established 1958.
