One of the superior rocking tracks from the 21 Today album which Cliff himself had a hand in writing, together with Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch. The official recording at Abbey Road Studios took place on 11 July 1961, and it is likely that the version for the 'Me And My Shadows' Luxembourg shows was recorded around the same time; the sound quality of the only taped broadcast is very poor.
Another version of this track was cut for BBC Radio's 'Parade Of The Pops' on 9 August 1961 and for 'Saturday Club' on 14 October 1961.
MC: a great rocker with group plus singer in top form on 21 Today: there is a fabulously biting Hank solo, surely required listening for any committed Shadows fan! The radio copy is recessed and boomy, but there is enough detail intact to indicate that this is most certainly one of the tracks where a crystal-clear copy would have been a real treasure.
