Cliff's fifteenth hit single released in October 1961 and the first single from the forthcoming new film 'The Young Ones', which premièred in December. The song reached number two in the NME UK charts and resided in the Top 40 for 15 weeks. This Tepper/Bennett composition was recorded by Cliff at Abbey Road much earlier in the year, on 30 January 1961, and Cliff performed it on BBC Radio's 'Saturday Club' on 14 October 1961 and again on 31 March 1962. The song also featured on BBC Radio's 'Parade Of The Pops' on 28 February 1962.
Television footage of this song and others exists from the 'The Rudi Carrell Show' when Cliff and The Shadows visited Holland on 8 April 1962. On this show The Shadows mime to their current number one hit Wonderful Land and Cliff mimes to Do You Wanna Dance, When The Girl in Your Arms and The Young Ones.
The Radio Luxembourg recording is of fair quality and remains faithful to the sound of the original.
MC: of limited interest/importance (the recording is afflicted by severe wow, especially evident on the Hank solo) the more so as a fine-sounding version of the number performed with The Shadows is available on the Kingston set.
