An excellent cover of the Elvis classic which Cliff incorporated into his live act regularly during 1961. He and The Shadows performed it live at Copenhagen in August 1961 – the whole concert being recorded by Radio Mercur for future broadcast. A fan's amateur recording of this concert (Shadows first half, Cliff and The Shadows second) from the radio does survive, although the original transcription disc, if ever made, appears to be lost.
The quality of the Luxembourg recording is fair to good, with Cliff in good vocal form and Hank providing two very distinctive and different instrumental solos during the song.
MC: reasonable sound quality given the odds; one well worth having, as an example of the still gutsy rocking style of singer + group.
