Cliff and the Shadows' cover of this Fats Domino hit was included in the 'Me And My Shadows' Luxembourg shows many times. Cliff first recorded it mid 1959 for BBC Radio's 'Saturday Club' and it featured in three of the shows transmitted on 20 June, 5 September and 24 October 1959.
It was also among the first of the songs Cliff and The Shadows recorded at the Luxembourg studios a year later during May, June and July 1960. The quality of the recording is fair to good, though some bad reception does mar parts of the song. This is another of those classic rock 'n' roll tracks not recorded officially by Columbia EMI in their studios.
MC: Domino songs were generally well handled by Cliff and the group, and this one is no exception. Reproduction is not brilliant, but the interference is not severe enough to mask the nicely echo-leaden vocal delivery and assured accompaniment.
