Another of the 24 songs recorded for inclusion on the much feted Me And My Shadows album released in October 1960. This up-tempo rocker was another Harris/ Marvin/Samwell composition recorded at Abbey Road on 30 March 1960 and subsequently made the opening title on the album. The Me And My Shadows album was predominantly a 'family affair' with ten of the sixteen tracks written by Bruce Welch, Hank Marvin, Ian Samwell, Jet Harris and Peter Chester.
The cut for the first series of Luxembourg shows made during mid 1960 is just as great. Although only of average audio quality, it has a slightly raunchier feel, an attractive 50s style echo, and a faster beat than the official EMI recording.
MC: a cracking opening number boasting a spectacular if brief solo, varied as expected in the radio cut, on the stellar collection Me And My Shadows, especially effective in glorious, sharply-etched stereo. What a pity this RL take has not been been preserved with a greater degree of clarity.
