During the early sixties The Shadows were extremely influential in encouraging youngsters to take up guitar; however, in America, that honour went to The Ventures. In another meticulously researched book authors Campbell and Burke have produced a fascinating record of ‘facts, opinions and obsevations’ during this very prolific decade of the band. It lists all the relevant releases, reveals loads of background info on recording sessions, players involved and even helps to answer the question of who actually played lead guitar on the big hits. A must for all lovers of guitar instrumentals.
