The book was published 13 April 1999, and reviews followed rapidly. The main UK ones are reproduced here, together with a number of informal comments sent to me by members of the international Shadows community.

Quite apart from these, I have received e-mails etc from all over the world about particular points raised in the book, and I will be gratefully making use of these in the the new and much enlarged edition of the Guide scheduled for 2003.
